Welcome to my learn to play violin blog. I have been teaching music for 20+ years, and I have taught everything from saxophone, flute, drums, guitar, and of course...violin.

Well, in playing and teaching all those instruments, I came to one conclusion. Violin is extremely difficult to play. Combine the lack of frets with the horse hair bows, and you have a recipe for noise that can wilt flowers.

I admit. As a music teacher, the one instrument that I just couldn't grasp was the violin. Notice the "WAS" in that statement. For some reason, I just couldn't get the proper form down, and when I did my muscle memory didn't kick in.

I decided to search around the internet to try to find out what I was missing. I came across a few books, but they were no help. How are you really going to learn to play violin from a book? You need live instruction. I stumbled on this video series that promised I would be able to play violin like a pro in a short period of time. I decided to give it a shot, and WOW - Within 24 hours I had learned one simple technique that had me playing violin like I never had before. I continued studying the rest of the video lessons, and the results were instant.
